Meet DIU, Founder & Artisan of FurMemor

I’m DIU, the founder and artisan behind FurMemor.

My journey began with a deeply personal story of love, loss, and remembrance.

I have always loved animals. When I was ten years old, my mother gave me my first Corgi. With fluffy fur, short little legs, and a cheerful personality, he became part of my childhood and one of my closest companions.

For years, I believed he would continue walking beside me through every stage of life.

Learning to Live With Goodbye

But life sometimes brings goodbyes before we are ready.

One day, I returned home to an empty house. My loyal companion was gone.

For a long time, I struggled with grief. I even tried to distance myself from the memories, hoping that changing my surroundings would somehow make the sadness easier to carry.

Eventually, I began to understand something important: losing someone we love does not mean we have to erase the memories they left behind.

Passing away is not the end. The memories and love we continue to carry are what keep someone close to us.

I began painting portraits of my dog and creating small handmade keepsakes inspired by him.

Through drawing, sculpting, painting, and working with my hands, I slowly learned to face those memories differently. Instead of trying to forget, I began finding comfort in preserving the little details I never wanted to lose.

Why I Created FurMemor

After sharing my experience online, I discovered that many pet owners were carrying the same quiet grief.

For many of us, pets are not simply animals. They are family members, companions, and part of our everyday lives.

When they are gone, we often miss the smallest things most — the sound of their footsteps, the place they liked to sleep, the expression on their face, or the way they waited for us to come home.

That is why I founded FurMemor.

FurMemor was created to give pet owners a meaningful way to preserve those memories through personalized memorial pieces made especially for the companions they loved.

At FurMemor, we believe a memorial should feel personal.

We are committed to handmade creation — no AI-generated artwork, no 3D printing, and no mass production for our handcrafted memorial pieces.

Depending on the product, our artisans may sculpt, carve, paint, assemble, or finish each piece by hand.

For personalized products created from pet photos, we carefully study details such as coat colors, markings, facial features, and expression so the finished memorial reflects the individual pet rather than a generic template.

Because each piece is handmade, small differences in brushwork, texture, wood grain, sculpted details, or color may naturally occur. These variations are part of what makes every FurMemor memorial one of a kind.
